About IVCF UH
InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA(r) (IVCF) is an evangelical campus mission serving more than 35,000 students and faculty on more than 560 college and university campuses nationwide. Incorporated in 1941, InterVarsity has a rich tradition of campus witness, thoughtful discipleship, and a concern for world missions.
IVCF at the University of Houston was established in 1998. Two IVCF staff workers, including Josh Howell, posted flyers on campus inviting students to daily prayer meetings and bible studies. Three days later, students began showing up at prayer meetings. The first bible study was held in the Moody Towers with approximately 15 students attending.
Today more than 100 students are involved in IVCF at U of H. Multiple bible studies, weekly worship, daily prayer meetings, retreats, outreaches, mission opportunities and social events all make up the complex and diverse ministry at the University of Houston.
The Purpose of IVCF
